SHADOW Home Secretary Ann Widdecombe was in Nantwich this week.
Mrs Widdecombe, known for her robust views on the drug taking culture, gave her support to the local Life Education Centre.
The Centre, based at Wyche Primary School, was the first to be set up in the county in September 1999.
Now there are 17 operating in the region which run programmes seeking to enhance each child's sense of worth.
The children attending them are also given strategies to help make healthy choices and resist peer pressure to experiment with drugs in later life.
Mrs Widdecombe met with local Conservative councillors Donald Potter, Brian Silvester and Marshall Nield.
The MP also met with David Williams, of Nantwich Rotary Club which was instrumental in raising the £50,000 funding necessary for the mobile classroom.
The MP also visited Crewe to give a talk about the state of policing in the borough.
