LADY luck was not shining as the weather washed out the big turn on for Nantwich's lights.
One of the stars from the Lyceum panto, Emma Steadman, still braved the conditions to switch on the lights and some of the more hardy residents also turned up.
A procession of school children and parents from local primary schools paraded the streets prior to the lighting up.
Mayor of Crewe and Nantwich Barbara Bickerton also attended as did representatives from Nantwich Town Council.
Extras in this year's lights show are new bulbs on the main Christmas tree and ten extra star features on the square.
With the rain still pouring fireworks rounded off the event.
