FOUR fire crews were called to a timber yard in Sandbach earlier this week as a massive fire took hold.
The incident happened at Maywoods Timber Treatment Works on Station Road in Elworth, Sandbach as a building containing vehicles and gas cylinders caught fire.
Two engines were called from Crewe and Sandbach to the site just before midnight on Sunday evening.
On arrival commanding officer Williams called for two more engines as the blaze engulfed a 20 by 30 metre building.
Three jets and spray hoses were used to tackle the blaze and firefighters were withdrawn on the discovery of a gas cylinder.
The cylinder was allowed to cool down and the fire was extinguished at 1am and the area made safe by 2am on Monday morning.
No-one was hurt in the incident and building and cars were made safe without explosion.
