A FRESH row has broken out between Conservatives and Lib Dems at Congleton Borough Council.
The council's shadow executive, made up of Clr Short and five other Lib Dem councillors, has released details on a scheme to close council offices in Congleton and Alsager and centralise in Sandbach.
But leader of the Congleton Conservative Group, Clr Roland Domleo, is furious he was not told of the plans before they were made public
"Mrs Short has treated the council, councillors and the people of the borough with absolute contempt," he said.
Congleton Borough Council's managing director Peter Cooper said: "A group leaders' meeting was held in February last year to discuss this scheme and we said some proposals would be coming into force.
"But Clr Domleo did not have a copy of this press release and I have apologised to him for that.
"At this stage the scheme is just a proposal and not a decision."
Relations between the Conservatives and Lib Dems are already strained following Clr Short's refusal to stand down as Leader of the Council.
Conservatives put pressure on Clr Short to resign after allegations were made that she had breached national and local codes of conduct.
A full council meeting on December 14 will discuss action to be taken regarding the allegations.
