TWO budding politicians from Verdin High School will represent Cheshire on the UK's first youth parliament.
Michelle Gooley, 16, and Andrew Teece, 17, were both elected by other teenagers after a poll at County Hall, Chester, and will now go on to take part in the parliament's inaugural meeting in London.
Michelle believes under-18s should have a say in the decision making process and would also like to see a minimum wage for school pupils with part time jobs.
Andrew, who already has aspirations to become a future MP, said: "Our job is to prove that the Youth Parliament can work, it is also important that young people need to know their rights."
To be elected the two MYP's gave an address to their audience of Cheshire youngsters, and managed to convince them they would act in their best interests.
Cheshire will have three representatives in a 400 strong youth parliament, which will initially develop a national Youth Manifesto to represent the views of youngsters from all walks of life.
