Crewe and Nantwich 53 Western Vikings 14
A COMFORTABLE and convincing 53-14 victory meant an easy passage into the next round of the Cheshire Cup with Crewe and Nantwich overwhelming Isle of Man side Western Vikings.
Crewe's two wingers took advantage of extra space and two tries came quickly as Keurt Raferty finished off two well worked moves.
Another try from Andy Richardson contributed to a 29 point lead but two Viking tries just before the break put them right back in the tie at 29-14.
Crewe responded with a further four tries which included a hatrick for Raferty.
Tries for Van Wyk, Harrison and Hills rounded off the excellent performance which will do wonders for the team spirit.
Crewe 2nds lost at Macclesfield while the 3rds had an excellent 19-3 win against Holmes Chapel.
Next Saturday the first team return to league action when they are back at their home from home in Whitchurch to host Wirral, kick off is at 2pm.
