But last week the bridegroom's gold wedding ring was buried after a snowball fight on the Moor.
David Tait was playing with some friends' children during a family Christmas in Knutsford when the wedding ring slipped off his finger.
"He is upset about it, but the laugh of it all is that he was not going to wear a wedding ring," said David's wife Elizabeth yesterday (Tuesday).
"We did look for it and we went round to the police station, but it was unmanned."
David and Elizabeth had travelled from London to be with her family for the festive season.
The former Knutsford High School student married the computer expert in November and they bought matching rings.
But last week one half was lost in the winter wonderland.
"It could have been lost by the swings, but he was also helping to push cars out of the King Street car park because they were stuck in the snow," said Elizabeth, 35.
Yesterday (Tuesday), Elizabeth's mum Margaret Walley said: "David was very upset because he had only just got it.
"The chances of finding it are unlikely, but you never know."
If you have found the ring, please call the Knutsford Guardian on 01565 751114.
