But now Olivia Ryder, managing director of COS Recruitment, is preparing to open her sixth branch and expects to employ 50 staff within the next four years.
"It is all down to a good team, a lot of hard work and knowing the market," she said.
Two extra members of staff may be employed at the Knutsford office as part of the company's future expansion plans.
And next month, borough councillors will discuss the company's plans to convert garages behind their King Street premises to offices to cope with the mounting paperwork.
"Knutsford is going to be the centralised head office so we need to convert the garages to accommodate the expansion," said Miss Ryder.
