HEAVY traffic for the construction of the new Shavington Bypass will not be able to use Willaston village roads.
The Highway Agency is insisting in their tender documents that such vehicles must not use the A500 and not attempt to use rat runs through the village.
Cllr Brian Silvester welcomed the news: "I am very pleased. Many heavy vehicles use Willaston as a rat run and additional construction would have been disastrous.
"I would have liked an immediate weight limit for all traffic through Willaston and will continue to press for its early introduction."
