BUSINESSWOMAN Jacqui Do has won over planners with the design of her planned Chinese takeaway.
Mrs Do is aiming to open the takeaway in Lawton Street, Congleton, in long vacant premises currently sealed with concrete blocks.
Permission for the venture was granted in February 1999, but Mrs Do faced opposition from planners with her initial design for the front of the premises.
She wanted to instal aluminium frames and an aluminium clad 'stallriser,' which borough council planning chief Geoff Allen said was totally inappropriate for premises in a conservation area.
He suggested a timber-framed shopfront of more traditional design, prompting Mrs Do to submit revised plans in line with his suggestions.
Mr Allen is recommending approval of an application by Mrs Do to instal a replacement shopfront at the premises at 58, Lawton Street.
Congleton Town Council is calling for the amended scheme to be refused as inadequate in terms of its design and the materials to be used.
