A WINSFORD dog lover is desperate to find a home for a stray Alsatian, which now faces an uncertain future at an animal shelter.
Andrew Blackshaw, 49, and his neighbours, in Caernarvon Avenue, Winsford, had grown fond of the Alsatian, which Andrew nicknamed Tarzan, as he roamed their street over Christmas.
But after efforts to find him a home, Andrew has been forced to hand Tarzan to Northwich police and the dog has been taken to kennels in Stoke.
Andrew said: "This is a friendly and energetic dog and would make a wonderful pet in the right hands.
"He sat and came to heel when he was told, but sadly some of my neighbours already have dogs and because of commitments I do not have the time to give him the attention he needs.
"However, after the Guardian recently helped track down a new home for two Alsatians, I am sure someone out there could give him a home."
Anyone interested in rescuing Tarzan is urged to ring Andrew on 01606 869060.
