WHO on earth sanctioned the destruction of mature trees and shrubs on the island at Winwick Island, and with it the nesting and feeding habitat of several species of bird and to replace it with a £10,000 "art feature"?
Surely it would have been more sensible to leave the island as it was and donate the £10,000 to Children in Need or some other worthy cause?
Who makes these stupid decisions, without consultation with the locals, and what is the next piece of greenery to disappear from the Winwick landscape?
