A HARTFORD woman is celebrating after receiving an MBE in the New Year's Honours List.
Veronica Laird, of Hodge Lane, has been honoured for her services to St Helen's Chamber of Commerce for which she is a director.
"I'm absolutely delighted and I feel very proud," said Veronica.
"To be given and award for something which I have loved doing is quite overwhelming.
"To be nominated by my own peers is recognition from them, it's absolutely amazing," she added.
Veronica is a managing director of an internal freight forwarding company, sits on many committees and is a governor of St Helen's College.
Also celebrating with her are her husband Eric and her five children, Denise, Beverly, Janet, Damien and Fenella.
"I'm not sure who I will be taking to receive the award but certainly my husband Eric," added Veronica.
