SPEEDSTER Chris Betteridge's fantastic year on two wheels has been crowned now he's the official National 250cc 2000 ACU Star Champion.
The 32-year-old was sure his fourth place in the final round at Donnington Park, in November, had earned enough points to seal the championship.
But discrepancies were found in all competitor's totals and although his rivals also believed Betteridge was the new champ, the governing body refused to recognise him.
After an examination late last month, the ACU declared that the Crewe rider was indeed the victor and are now due to present him with the trophy at an national awards ceremony.
"I would like to thank my race assistants Ken Hankey and Rick Dentith for all their help," said Chris.
Chris is looking for sponsorship to move on to new ventures.
