AFTER a spectacular millennium year for St Rocco's, supporters, volunteers and staff are hoping for another prosperous year for the hospice.
The main part of the year will be spent supporting the efforts of the companies and individuals involved in the Charity Challenge fundraiser. The first part of the challenge is to take place at LA Bowl in late January where St Rocco's staff will join the teams for a bowling extravaganza.
And it's not too late to join the challenge fun as the hospice will be accepting more teams well into the new year.
Assistant fundraiser Lesley Groome and fund-raising manager Claire Mannock are planning their own extreme challenge.
Staff are still reeling from the success of their millennium merchandise sales and new stock is already arriving. Supporters are advised to keep their eyes open for the new clip on beanies which can be bought at the hospice.
Lesley Groome said: "It's been a great year for the hospice and we're hoping 2001 will be just as successful. Any individuals who would like to help the hospice in any way are welcome to call me on 579226 and tell us about their plans."
Supporters are reminded that although 2000 has proved to be an extremely successful year, the hospice needs to continue this success in order to provide patients with quality of life, dignity and care.
