WHILE their first team was battling its way to a single point victory at Aspull, Northwich 2nds totted up a record score against the Wigan club's second string.
Leading scorer Huw Jones fell just one point short of a personal haul of 50, but his team made it to the century, scoring 104 points.
Jones' 49 points came from five of his the team's 16 tries, 12 of which he converted. Graham Robinson also scored a hat-trick.
other tries came from Carl Senior (2), Steve Galbrauith, Stuart Mills, Steve Taylor, Dave Lilley, Mark Solan and jubilant skipper Jes Gough.
Aspull's 2nds may have wished they had followed the lead of their 3rds who cancelled their fixture against Northwich 3rds.
This Saturday, both sides play Oldershaw, 2nds away, 3rds at home, both kicking off at 2.30pm.
Northwich's first team also play Oldershaw at Moss Farm, 2.30pm kick-off.
