THERE was no Christmas hangover for Winnington Park's men as they crushed Preston 8-3 in a friendly on Saturday.
Finding their net against the Lancashire men was no problem as they went 3-0 by the interval through goals by D Moores, J Stackhouse and P Evans.
Despite slack defending to allow Preston to score three of their own, Winnington added a further five after the break through Porter (2), Moores, Winward and Heffenden.
Park , picture in action, right, during the friendly, need this kind of confidence boost for the return of league hockey on Saturday when they visit runaway leaders Oxton.
Park 2nds lost 5-3 against Wilmslow. P Stackhouse and two from I Conners put them on the scoresheet.
The 3rds and 4ths both drew 0-0 in their matches, with Preston and Warrington respectively.
