But he died before he could finish it.

Five years on, however, it is now complete and on Friday, his widow Margaret will take the lead role.

"It is wonderful that he is being remembered in this way," said Margaret on Monday.

She expects to shed a few tears after the opening night of The Snow Queen at Knutsford Little Theatre.

Buy she says she'll have no time to think about her late husband when she's on the stage.

"Once I'm up there I won't think about anything except my lines," she said. "But the feeling of sadness may sneak up on me afterwards."

Trevor, who died five years ago, was a familiar face back stage at the Queen Street theatre where he helped to build the sets.

But his first love was music.

"He had a large collection of records that he would wade through to find songs for different performances," said Margaret. "He could spend hours doing that and loved every minute of it."

The script for The Snow Queen was completed by Sean Duvall with music composed by Mike and Caroline Wilding.

"Trevor had laid down plans for the rest of the story so using them Sean finished the script," said theatre press officer Sally Bennett.

"We believe it is as Trevor would have wanted it to be and can't wait to perform it in his memory."

Margaret plays the Snow Queen, a cold and lonely person who captures happy people to make them miserable.

In true panto style, the comedy duo Hands and Knees - played by Richard Pink and Sean Duval - will provide mayhem on stage while John Smith is set to have the audience roaring with laughter as Dame Granny Strudel.

The Snow Queen opens on Friday and runs for six nights with matinee performances on both weekends.

Tickets are available from Caroline Wilding on 653597 or Gray Travel in Princess Street.
