THE CHESHIRE Carnival Queens' Association has raised £1,200 for the Macmillan Nurses.
The association was only formed a year ago, with most members of the committee coming from Northwich and Winsford.
Current Cheshire carnival queen Laura Capper, from Hartford, presented the money in December.
Chairman Jean Erskine said: "As a new organisation I would like to thank all the people who have supported us over the past year."
The association is now looking for a new carnival queen, who will be selected at Owley Wood Social Club, Weaverham, on February 4.
Any girl over the age of 11 from anywhere in Cheshire can apply.
The only restriction is that candidates should not hold any other position, for example a princess, as the Cheshire Carnival Queen will need to attend each carnival in that position.
