SIGNS broadcasting an accident blackspot's death toll would shock motorists into driving safely, a councillor claims.
The A530 that links Nantwich with Middlewich in the north and Whitchurch in the south has seen 33 fatalities in eight years.
Willaston borough member Brian Silvester is calling for warning signs to be erected along the road which has the worst accident record in the area.
"I believe that if motorists are told about the carnage there has been on this road they will think twice before they speed or try some tricky manoeuvre," he said.
"I am sure that many drivers, including some local ones, don't realise how deadly this road is. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. I believe that these signs will shock motorists into driving more safely," he added.
