A PUB in Rudheath is soon to have a new function room - which will require no building whatsoever.
For Farmer's Arms landlord Max Bacon has put up a huge marquee in his beer garden.
Max, a former rock star with supergroup GTR, is so proud of his new acquisition he is billing it as a new Millennium Dome!
Max said: "I can hold my music festival and if it rains it won't matter.
"I will also be able to hold functions on Saturdays and diversify a bit."
The marquee, which does not need planning permission, provided it only remains for three months at a time, was put up last week.
It now needs to be kitted out before an opening weekend with entertainment.
The giant tent will intrude on the bowling green - but Max says this will not upset the bowling club as much as the five-a-side football pitch which he originally planned.
Max said: "The bowlers are fine, all we have done is taken two metres off the bowling green, it is still more than a decent size and it was either that or no bowling."
However, not all of the pub's many bowling fans were happy. One regular said: "The only way this will take off is if it gets windy."
