A SHOP assistant was hit by a car after she chased thieves who stole a lottery scratchcard dispenser from a garage in Culcheth.
Two men went into the BP garage on Warrington Road at around 8.30pm on Friday night. One of the men grabbed the lottery tickets and the pair ran from the shop. But the plucky assistant chased them down the road, then the pair jumped into a waiting white Ford Escort on Shaw Street to make their escape. The woman ran out into the road and was hit by the car and thrown into the air, and the three men sped off.
She was taken to Warrington Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
Detectives at Risley want to speak to any witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information can contact Det Con Dave Long on 01244 612644 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
