HUSBAND and wife teams are standing for election as Biddulph town and district councillors.
Elections for vacant seats in the Biddulph South ward on both the town and Moorlands District Council are to take place on February 8.
The vacancies were caused by the death of Councillor Doris Lythgoe.
Eleanor Meredith, from Endon Drive, Brown Lees, is standing for Labour in the district election.
Her challengers for the seat are Conservative John Leason, from Congleton Road, Biddulph, and Liberal Democrat David Stone, from Royce Avenue, Knypersley.
Mrs Meredith's husband Stan is contesting the town council election for Labour, against Mr Leason and Mr Stone's wife Claire for the Lib Dems.
Polling is due to take at Biddulph High School, Knypersley First School and Brown Lees Methodist Chapel.
