HAT-TRICK hero Simon Trenbirth steered Triton mens hockey club 1st X1 into the Cheshire Plate final on Sunday.
The skipper bagged his trio in a 5-1 semi-final victory over Holmes Chapel, with Triton coming from behind.
The victory followed a 3-2 home league win over Glaxo on Saturday, Boris Pineles scoring twice.
Holmes Chapel took the lead in the second half, but Triton rallied to dominate the last 25 minutes.
The other goals came from Nick Chucksley and Mark Bastock, and Triton will play Crewe or Knutsford in the final on April 8.
Pineles put Triton ahead on 17 minutes against Glaxo, followed shortly after by a second from James Maltman.
Glaxo equalised with two goals midway through the second half, only for Pineles to score the winner with three minutes to go.
Triton 2nd X1 lost 5-1 at Glaxo, Greg Allcock the Triton scorer, and the 3rds beat Winnington Park 3-2 away.
The 1st X1 travel to Prescot tomorrow in the league, while the 2nds, 3rds and ladies are at home, to Prescot, Alderley Edge and Congleton respectively.
