A SPECIAL service has been organised by Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.
The event will be led by the mayor's chaplain, Margaret Saville and held at All Saint's Church in Stewart Street, Crewe on Saturday, January 27, starting at 2.30pm.
The day was introduced to ensure crimes against humanity committed during the Holocaust are never forgotten and its relevance for each new generation is understood.
Six candles will be lit during the service in memory of the six million who perished and a poem read entitled 'Hagada.'
"I would like to extend an open invitation to all the community to attend this very special service," said borough mayor Cllr Barbara Bickerton.
