CREWE and Nantwich has the highest number of house burglaries in the county according to recent figures.
However, the borough is well below national figures for most other types of crime including violent offences and sexual assaults.
The crime rate in Cheshire has dropped to a third below the national average with 65 crimes per 1,000 people compared to 95.
The borough has the lowest number of sexual offences in the county with 0.1 offences per 1,000 people.
Instances of violent crime are below the Cheshire average with 5.5 offences per 1,000, this figure is less than half the national average.
Robbery and motor thefts are also below average although the area is still the worst in the county for burglary in dwellings.
There are 8 burglary offences for every 1,000 people in the area which is way above the Cheshire average and just below the national figure.
The detection rates for burglaries were also low with only 22 per cent of crimes being detected, although this was above the Cheshire and national figures.
A massive 97 per cent of violent crimes were detected along with 75 per cent of sexual crimes both way above national figures.
Assistant Chief Constable, Graeme Gerrard said: "The low crime rates in the local community show that the partnerships we have developed with other agencies and the public as a whole are working."
