A QUEEN Street resident is furious with Congleton Borough Council for, he claims, failing to take any action over people illegally using the Civic Hall car park.
John Lunt's house and garden back on to the car park and he claims he is constantly troubled with HGVs, refuse lorries and coaches parking outside his garden wall.
This causes sunlight to be blocked out from his house and in the summer any time spent in the garden is spoilt by diesel fumes.
Mr Lunt has been requesting some form of system to keep out unwanted visitors since 1996.
He said: "There are two problems apart from the fact they are illegal and an eyesore. In the cold weather the diesel fumes drop and fill the back garden, which I have tried to make as nice as possible.
"What I want to see is a traffic control system to prevent goods vehicles and other illegal users. The signs clearly state there is a limit of seven to seven-and-a-half tonnes."
A council spokesman said: "Highways officers will be visiting the site to undertake whatever actions are open to them.
"To solve the long term problem, designs are being prepared for the erection of goalpost type barriers preventing HGVs parking illegally."
