A DARNHALL resident is urging everyone in the Swanlow Lane area to fight a proposed landfill site before it is too late.
Eddie Darlington, of Moors Lane, fears the majority of people in the area know nothing about the application and he wants to highlight the potential consequences of the plan going through.
The site at Weaver Park Farm, off Swanlow Lane, was given planning permission five years ago, but now the applicant wants to extend that consent.
Mr Darlington said: "How this site was ever granted planning permission is unbelievable.
"If anyone suggested a tip at the end of Swanlow Lane with lorries carrying 20, 30 or 40 tonnes of waste coming from Over Square or Church Minshull on roads that are barely able to take the car traffic, let alone 30 ton lorries, the general public would think they were stark raving mad."
Vale Royal Borough Council has also objected to the application, considering the site to be unjustified and that the extra traffic would result in noise and disturbance to residents, and danger to pedestrians and motorists.
However, Cheshire County Council cannot see any reason to object to the plan and will have the final say on February 6.
Town and County Clr Tony Hooton said: "The recommendation is for approval but they are recommending much tighter conditions. But I will again be asking for it to be rejected.
"My basic objection is that it is in open countryside, we should not be tipping there."
The site for the proposed tip is a valley formation at the farm, which would be filled with 110,000 cubic metres of inert waste, such as bricks and builders' rubble, this would then be covered with topsoil and used for agricultural purposes.
Mr Darlington is asking residents to contact Vale Royal Borough Council with reasons for objection.
He added: "If Cheshire County Council is fair it should contact all the households this is going to affect and give us all a democratic vote."
