THE RSPCA is investigating after a Yorkshire Terrier was found in Esk Road with serious injuries.
A Winsford resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, rang the Guardian expressing concern about the dog's welfare, as it was still waiting for an operation 10 days after the incident.
A spokesman for the Willows Veterinary Centre, Hartford, confirmed they were treating the dog under the charge of the RSPCA.
An RSPCA spokesman said the dog, named Toby, is aged around 11 years old, and is receiving constant treatment for a broken pelvis, broken ribs, two broken legs and possible internal injuries.
He said: "The reason Toby has not been operated on so far is because we have to wait until he comes out of shock, otherwise it would be unsafe."
The spokesman added: "We are looking at this case, and we will be talking to the owners to find out exactly what has happened."
