CHARITY leader Ann Mawdsley will be taking the plunge with a celebrity line-up next week.
Mrs Mawdsley is the director of the Alsager-based Raynaud's and Scleroderma Association, and has organised a sponsored swim on February 1.
The celebrity swim features David Wilkie and Sharron Davies and two women BBC weather forecasters.
The line-up also includes two MPs, and Professor Carol Back, the vice president of the Royal College of Physicians.
Two teams of four aim to each swim a mile, and will be brought under starters orders by sports minister Kate Hoey.
The event is being held at the Dolphin Square Hotel in London, and has already attracted £8,500 in sponsorship.
