WARRINGTON's heartthrob Simon Dawbarn - aka Spike from ex-pop sensation 911 - was in town on Friday to launch a new dance initiative.
He will host a Street Dance Forum, staring big name bands including TKO, for hundreds of youngsters at Great Sankey Leisure Centre during February's school half term.
Three days events will see soon-to-be superstars CPR and Cartel take the stage at a special finale disco on February 23, hosted by Spike.
DJ Spike, who took his dreams of stardom from his bedroom to Top of the Pops, is taking time out from his busy London radio schedule to work with pal Johnathan ................. on the dance forum.
"Street Dance Forum is a two tier approach, a good night out with teaching dance. We want to bring some good acts to Warrington and give them a platform to perform," said Spike.
"We want to put it into schools and are getting a lot of bookings.
"I am looking to buy a house in Warrington and hope to work with Johnathan more in the future on this initiative. Eventually we would like to open a dance centre in the town."
Since the band break-up Spike remains best friends with pop pal, Lee Brennan who may be launching a solo pop career, but he has not seen or heard of Jimmy Constable - who made up the trio - since.
