Appleton parish council is strongly objecting to plans to change a former intensive turkey farm into an industrial facility.
The parish council has recommended refusal of a proposal to change the use of Hatton Farm on Stretton Road, Appleton Thorn, to light industrial use.
Exactly what the site would be used for has not been made clear but residents and councillors believe it would have a negative effect on the surrounding area.
Clerk Elvin Meachin said: "The proposed development would clearly be in the Green Belt. Adequate provision exists for employment and commercial development already on the Appleton Thorn Trading Estate.
"The proposed development is incompatible with the character of the surrounding area and would have a detrimental effect on the amenity of nearby residents. A large number of local residents have also individually objected to this proposal."
Gwyn Clarke, of the development control department of the borough council, said: "Planning officers are currently assessing the application on environmental health, highways and green belt perspectives."
