Dear Mrs Jones,

Thank you for going on record to put forward your views about the Wolves' new stadium.

It is good to know you have not opposed the current planning application or done anything to harm the future of the club.

But the question that still remains unanswered is whether or not you SUPPORT the plans for the former Tetley Walker brewery site, which include the community stadium and the Tesco Extra store.

Despite numerous conversations between the GUARDIAN and Mike Vobe, your husband and aide at the Warrington North constituency office, we have still never managed to clarify your position about the plans. In carefully worded statements you stress that you support the Wolves relocation and reiterate that you are aware of the strong backing the current planning application has in the town - but never have you said that you SUPPORT it.

In a letter to the Primrose and Blue fanzine you say that speaking as a solicitor, you do not want to comment on a planning application once it reaches this stage of the process as such comments can backfire.

But the GUARDIAN has never had any comment from you, personally, at any stage of the process, even in the early days of the 'Say yes to the people's stadium' campaign.

At the opening of the Energy House on Friday when you met Wolfie and fans, the door was closed rudely and firmly in the face of the waiting press.

Please don't close the door on the club, the fans and those who elected you. Meet with the GUARDIAN for a one to one interview on the whole issue which we will be happy to publish next week.

Yours,

The GUARDIAN
