THE lives of those who died in the Holocaust will be remembered throughout Warrington this weekend.
A number of memorial events and actions have been planned for Saturday, January 27, to honour the memory of the victims of genocide in the first-ever Holocaust Memorial Day.
People are invited to take part in a special day of events at Golden Square Shopping Centre.
The event, which will include thought-provoking pieces of drama, readings and exhibitions, has been organised by Warrington Borough Council's education department.
Year 10 dance pupils from Penketh High School will take part in two short performances at 11am and 11.30am and students at Bridgewater High will put on a short theatre piece at around 11.30am and 12.30pm.
Pupils from Culcheth High School will also give readings at noon and 1pm and an exhibition of artwork by youngsters at St Joseph's Roman Catholic School will be on display during the morning.
Fire stations in Warrington will also be commemorating the memorial day by flying their flags at half-mast.
