HOW can some of the people of Warrington not support your Stadium? I have been a fan ever since my late father-in-law took me to Wilderspool some 14 years ago and travel to Warrington whenever I can to watch them. The Wire/Wolves are Warrington. It's like saying Wembly should not exist in London. Mind you I bet you wouldn't hear their MPs trying to put a stop to it.
Of course there are issues to deal with but what would you rather have a state of the art stadium or a large brown field site where a brewery used to stand making the town centre look like a slum?
As for their financial needs, perhaps the Wolves could sell shares? I for one would buy some. I wish Warrington all the best and hope that the fine people of your town are successful in getting the Stadium. You never know it might encourage other sports in the town.
As a foot note, I was in Las Vegas last year talking to a local in the bar and one of the few rugby league teams he actually knew of was Warrington so it goes to show it does put you on the map!
