COMMUNITY-MINDED youngsters have banded together to clean up their streets
The clean-up was all part of the Dream Scheme initiative and was organised by the Valley Community Action Project around the Valley Road area of Crewe.
The children all took part in a litter pick last Wednesday and as a reward got to meet two of Crewe's crimefighters.
Police Constable Danny Cartledge and Inspector Gordon Venables brought along their handcuffs and a squad car to show the children.
The litter pick was a pilot activity for Dream Scheme, which the project is hoping to put into practice across Crewe alongside other voluntary groups and statutory authorities.
Young people who participate in Dream Scheme earn points to allow them to go on a variety of organised trips or activities. Following the litter pick the youngsters were rewarded with a trip to the ice-rink. Crewe police are keen to support the scheme.
