A NIGHT in with a celebrity chef is just one prize on offer at a Nantwich charity auction.
The 'Auction of Promises' has been organised to raise money for the local Chernobyl Children's Cancer Care (4Cs) charity.
The event raises money to help provide holidays for children from Belarus who are still suffering as a result of the Chernobyl disaster.
And in a bid to boost the fund-raising celebrity chef Simon Rimmer is offering to cook up a meal for six in your very own home.
The auction is being held at Alvaston Hall off Middlewich Road in Nantwich and it is hoped it will fund a month long break for 30 children for rest and recuperation.
The 4Cs charity was formed by a group of Nantwich people five years ago and Simon, who has appeared on This Morning and Granada Tonight, leapt at the chance to support it.
"This is a fantastic community initiative where every single penny raised is used for the benefit of these children," said Simon.
"It deserves all the support it can get. As a chef and a father I find it hard to accept that the high incidence of cancers are caused from children eating contaminated food that still has to be grown locally," he added.
There are plenty of other goodies up for grabs at the auction including signed U2 CDs, tours of Manchester United Football Club and the House of Commons, computer tuition, a free round of golf at Portal Golf Club, tickets to TV's Question of Sport and many many more.
Project Secretary, Ann Bateman, commented: "The children that we are hoping to bring over this year are victims of the world's biggest disaster and one that happened before they were even born.
"A month's stay outside Belarus with good food, rest, fun and a clean environment benefits the children's health enormously," she added.
The evening is to be held on Friday, March 9, and tickets are a mere £2.50 and can be bought from Ann Bateman on 524217.
Mrs Bateman is also on the look out for more volunteers to help with the charity and people who are interested in lending a hand are invited to get in touch as well.
