A WINSFORD woman will be paid compensation after her council house was left without heating for almost a month.
Serena Shaw, who has three small children aged between two and seven, reported the fault in the central heating to Vale Royal Borough Council on February 2.
An engineer came out within a couple of days and told Mrs Shaw that a part was missing.
But then she heard nothing until February 28.
"We have had to manage by boiling the kettle and pans for hot water and there's been no heating except for a tiny electric fire throughout the cold last few weeks," said Mrs Shaw.
"I had been to the council or phoned them every other day, but they just kept passing the buck and saying someone would be in contact."
A spokesman for the borough council admitted there had been problems and said Mrs Shaw, who lives at Danefield Road, would be compensated.
"The part needed to fix the heating was ordered on February 6, but the wrong part was delivered," he said.
"We re-ordered and were able to fit the correct part on Wednesday, February 28. Mrs Shaw will be paid compensation."
