A KIND-HEARTED Winsford couple have raised £1,700 for a young Winsford leukaemia sufferer.
Paul and Wendy Cain decided to organise a charity gala night in aid of the 12-year-old, who is a close family friend.
Everybody did their bit to make the night one to remember at Meadowbank Social Club on Friday, including five male strippers who were brave enough to bare all in the name of charity.
The Full Monty style act was in fact Paul with his pals Eddie, Steve, John and Gav.
Meadowbank Social Club manager, Steve McLellan, generously donated the use of the club, a disco and a late bar, while bands Echo-Felix and Anvil played for free.
Wendy said: "It is the first time we have done anything like this and at the beginning of the night we expected to raise about a thousand pounds, so it was a very successful event."
Everyone is hoping the money will go some way to brightening up the youngster's life as he goes through a gruelling treatment programme.
Wendy added: "The money will go to the young boy to do whatever he wants. He has already been on a trip to London to the theatre and some of the money has bought him a mobile phone.
"We would like to thank Steve at the club for his help, the bands and everyone else who supported this night. It was an absolutely brilliant event in front of a packed house and everyone enjoyed it."
