AN INVESTIGATION is being carried out into an allegation of misconduct against a Vale Royal borough councillor.
It is understood the local councillor, who cannot be named, will be interviewed by the council's monitoring officer in connection with the complaint made against him, which is believed to be an allegation of maladministration.
As a result of the accusation Vale Royal Borough Council's standards committee has introduced procedures to deal with complaints against members.
Anne Bingham-Holmes, chief executive of Vale Royal Borough Council, confirmed that a complaint had been received about a borough councillor.
"This complaint is being managed according to the council's official procedures," she said.
"A further statement can only be issued at its conclusion."
