YOUNGSTERS across Winsford and Middlewich got into the spirit of World Book Day with a variety of events in celebration.
The focus of the fun was Winsford Library on Saturday morning when children could go along and swap their tokens for a book of their choice.
All schools had already received a pack with each child getting a token to redeem.
Two publishers were at the library, and children's author John Malam was also present, selling the best new children's books and signing autographs.
Librarian Ian Anstice said: "It went very well indeed. There were about 140 vouchers taken and I would say there were about 500 people who came along.
"It was a brilliant morning, the junior library was buzzing and I for one enjoyed it immensely."
Schools also celebrated World Book Day with their own events including book fairs and dressing up.
Among the most unusual was Middlewich Primary School which had a 'round the world' theme with pupils wearing all types of costumes associated with different countries.
And infants and staff at Leaf Lane School, Winsford, turned up in their pyjamas for a bedtime reading day.
