THE birthday celebrations of an exclusive hair salon have given Hebden Green School a reason to rejoice.

Jason Lea Hair Salon, in Knutsford, has raised £500 for the school at a fashion show and hair style demonstration held to mark the salon's fifth birthday.

Television hairdressers, Patrick Cameron and Philip Hughes were the stars of the special show attended by clients, the Friends of Hebden Green and stylists from other Jason Lea salons.

Staff at the salon decided to raise money for the school after Hebden Green pupil Mathieu Leader was brought to the salon to get his haircut.

Peter Saville, from Jason Lea, said: "Mathieu had never been happy having his haircut until he came here. We love to make a fuss of him and it was an absolute pleasure to be able to raise money for him and his school."

Andrew Farren, of Hebden Green School, said: "I'm just delighted, it's brilliant.

"I'd like to express our appreciation to the hairdressers and thank them for their support, I can't thank them enough.

"We are doing so much at the school and every penny counts."

Jason Lea, who owns the salons will be presenting a cheque for the school to Mathieu's mum, Laura later in the week.
