COLLEGE bosses have announced a major expansion to music facilities at Padgate Campus.
The launch of the new, purpose-built Chapel Studio Complex follows hot on the heels of a recent upgrade of the existing Mission Studios to a fully-digital 32-track system.
Both developments are prime examples of the collegiate's commitment to providing musicians in Warrington with some of the best facilities.
The new complex is based around two identical control rooms where students can take advantage of a fully comprehensive training programme using all major recording formats.
As part of the BA in Media (commercial music production), students run their own production and record company Resolution Records.
The company has promoted concerts countrywide and released albums and singles over the years with the emphasis on development and exposure for the bands in question.
Gareth Blazey, course leader for commercial music production, said: "The college is keen to equip students with skills that the industry requires by focusing teaching methods using newly developed and future-proof technologies.
"In the fast-paced world of digital recording, where equipment can soon become out-of-date, they can be sure that their skills will still be relevant when they finish their degrees."
