A CELEBRATION of youth is coming to Warrington to promote the talents and positivity of the town's children and young people.
COY2001 is the follow on from last year's COY2K, which saw thousands of people pile into the Old Market Square.
And organisers of this year's event are promising a bigger and better affair.
Supported financially and pastorally by 'The Bigger Picture' an exciting and innovative Home Office-funded project that promotes volunteering and community based activities in the town this year's event will be taking place in Golden Square again on Saturday, July 28.
Among the variety of events lined up is the town's very own 'Popstars'-type competition, 'Filmstars' and other exciting projects for writers, artists and sports-people.
Gary Rowland, general co-ordinator, said: "Celebration of Youth is an event being run by young people, for young people.
"The team is working with young volunteers on everything from recruitment to publicity and promotion.
"We are currently recruiting young people to work on our teams. The event is all about young people and therefore we want as many ideas and 'bodies' involved as possible.
"Volunteers can commit as much time as they want to commit, working in areas that they are interested in."
Anyone interested in helping organise the event can go along to a meeting at the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Young People's Centre on Wednesday, March 28 at 6pm. Alternatively they can call the hotline on 445382 for more information.
