That is the tale of Warrington Wolves' pathway to a repeat of last year's semi against Bradford Bulls.
The Wolves triumphed 32-0 over French league-leaders Villeneuve at Wilderspool on Sunday but the Bulls will be a massive jump up from this quarter-final win.
Missing Danny Nutley and Toa Kohe-Love through suspension Andrew Gee returned to the side after a shoulder operation and put in a hard-working performance.
David Kidwell replaced Kohe-Love in the centre and set-up two tries while scoring another.
However, Lee Briers shaded the man of the match award from an uninspiring shortlist of contenders.
Briers scored a hat-trick from full back but only managed to kick two conversions from seven.
Rob Smyth got his first two tries of the season and captain Alfie Langer also added a four-pointer in his usual domineering capacity as playmaker.
