PUPILS at Greenbank Residential School went on the road as part of their Key Stage Four work experience last week.
It got underway last Monday, March 5, as 22 pupils were hard at work at various placements in Northwich.
Pupils were given the chance to work at places including McDonalds, Northwich Victoria Football Club, The Little Chef, various charity shops, as well as the Northwich Guardian where one of the student's, Giles Cockett, spent a week learning how the newspaper was put together.
Giles said: "It's been really exciting working for the Guardian I've learnt a lot and would like to come back again."
Bethany Mills, who worked at McDonalds, told the Guardian: "I've really enjoyed learning about all the different aspects of the job, it's been a pleasure to work here."
Jean Billington, who supervised Bethany during her placement, said: "She's tried very hard and she has presented herself as a happy and hard-working young lady."
One of the pupils who worked at a charity shop in the town centre, Manfred Reift, also told the Guardian that it had been a very exciting time because he had just moved up from Key Stage Three.
All the pupils would like to express their thanks to Pam Shingler, Sue Owen, Derek Norrey and Sam Goodall for organising and transporting the pupils to and from their various placements.
