t's time to don the red noses and bathe in baked beans, Comic Relief is upon us again, on March 16, and this time it promises to be bigger and better than ever.
This is the 16th year of the biennial extravaganza which raises money for projects in the UK and in third world countries.
Northwich schools are getting in on the act and going crazy for charity.
Wincham Primary School is holding a non-uniform day with the children and staff being asked to wear as much red as possible, including skin and hair.
The children at Cuddington County Primary School have been invited to come to school with their pants on the outside, dressed all in red or with their clothes on back to front.
Davenham Primary School is to tie Comic Relief in with World Book Week and the children have been told to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book.
The children and staff at Hartford County Primary have bought and sold red noses and T shirts and they are having a non uniform day when the children are invited to wear red clothes and have red hair.
On a slightly different theme the children at Sandiway County Primary are having a sponsored bad hair day and are again all going to wear something red.
At Barnton Infant and Junior School a group of students have organised a fancy dress day for all the children and the staff.
The children at Lostock Gralam Primary School are going to pay 10p to have their noses painted red with all the proceeds going to Comic Relief.
Of course it is not just the primary schools who are getting involved in the fun, the town's high schools are also taking part.
On Thursday, March 15, Rudheath High School is hosting a dance workshop involving ex pupils as well as a penalty shoot out at lunch time and a talent show in the afternoon.
The pupils at Weaverham High School are having a fancy dress day with various events such as guess the number of sweets in the jar.
Both Hartford High School and The County High School, Leftwich are having a sponsored non-uniform day.
The town's colleges are also getting involved in the fun with both Mid Cheshire College and Sir John Deane's holding fund raising events
Businesses in the town are supporting the campaign too with Wilsons Hairdressers, Witton Street, offering a complimentary scalp massage for which a small donation can be made.
The staff will be selling home made cakes and will also be wearing large pants over fancy dress outfits.
Staff at the NatWest Bank are having a non-uniform day and are to place donation buckets throughout the branch.
The K Bar is also getting involved, with staff wearing their pants over their clothes and collecting money from customers as they come through the door.
