PROSTATE Cancer campaigners are hoping to raise awareness of the killer disease with a series of drop-in centres throughout Cheshire.
To mark Prostate Cancer Awareness Week, March 24 - 31, the Prostate Cancer Awareness Campaign and Support Group, at Leighton Hospital, will be setting up stalls to provide useful information.
Chairman Gary Steele, from Winsford, said: "In the 10 months the group has been formed, we have provided the necessary care and information which has seen a 25 per cent increase in referrals at Leighton.
"This has made Leighton Hospital 'top of the tables' for radical prostatectomy operations and achieving the 'two week' standards set by the Government in pre and post cancer care counselling."
On Friday, March 30, the group will hold their drop in centre at Northwich's Shopping Precinct.
Or Winsford residents who are unable to make it to Northwich can go along to Morrison's supermarket, Nat Lane on April 6.
The group are also asking any local dignitaries and businesses to help and are very grateful to Winsford Cricket Club and Wharton Conservative Club for donations of £100 and £150 respectively.
Anyone else who can help can ring Gary Steele on 01606 553097.
