AT a recent open meeting in Macclesfield, Vale Royal sprinters showed that they are beginning to show the form that the club's distance juniors have enjoyed over the last few years.
Sarah Clarke won a double with the under-13 girls 150 metres A race (22.6 secs) and long jump titles. Corinne Kinvig won the B race in 23.6 seconds.
Virginia Moorhouse, 12, finished third in the under-15 girls 200 metres in a time of 30.7 seconds and won the long jump with a distance of 4.15 metres.
Amy Neve, also 12, ran in the 800 metres against under-17s and finished fourth. Also running were Louise Bosson and Lucy Blackburn.
Vale Royal Athletics Club meets on Tuesdays at Rudheath Leisure Centre at 6.15pm and in Winsford on Thursdays at Woodford Lodge High School for juniors and Knights Grange for seniors, both 7pm starts.
Any new members are encouraged to just turn up on the night and see a coach.
