BARNTON & Frodsham Angling Club's final match of the 2000-2001 season took place at Heesom's Pool for the end of season cup.

A fair turn-out of 17 ensured competition was high, even though weights were only average and bonus fish were required to frame.

Trevor Jones took top weight on the day from peg 43 on pole-presented pinkie at nine metres, three ide plus a single roach and a bonus 1lb perch making up his catch of 1-14-13, enabling him to lift the coveted trophy.

Another bonus perch in the 14oz bracket allowed Bob Hughes to scoop second place from peg 38. Big red maggot at 10 metres was the method used, which also accounted for three ide to 6ozs, pushing his final catch to 1-10-0.

A net of 10 fish containing a mixture of roach and ide taken on a combination of sidewinder and pole with differing baits from peg 45, gave Mick Cowley third spot with 1-14-10 from the clear and difficult water.
